Our guitar lessons are given by teachers who are are experienced performers and teachers, and love to share their skills with both kids and adults. Guitar is a great way to get started on your musical journey. Pop, Rock and other styles. Private or group classes.
Our Teachers
Holly
Holly brings a wealth of music lesson experience to our teaching team. She has a Bachelor of Music Education from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Uni of Sydney) and a Certificate III & IV (Jazz/Popular) from NMIT. She is an experienced teacher, and has performed in both professional and community ensembles such as concert bands, swing bands, amateur musical society productions, cover bands, jazz combos, mandolin orchestra, choirs and duos. She’s a regular member of the Melba Big Band and she performs in a number of other musical ensembles. She teaches:

Nate
Nate is a multi-instrumentalist who’s been playing Piano, Clarinet and Saxophone from a young age. He has successfully completed AMEB exams on multiple instruments to a high level. His live performance experience includes playing in Jazz big bands, Horn quartets, Klezmer, musical productions, and more!
Nate is an enthusiastic educator and has been teaching children since he was young. He believes that in order to become a great musician, it is essential to incorporate fun into learning, alongside fundamental skills, and his ethos fits perfectly at Sharon Davis Music.
He teaches:

Umar
Umar is a teacher with a jazz background who loves to explore his imagination and creativity in music and encourages his students to do the same. Umar loves playing for other people but believes that music should be fun and satisfying for yourself first. When he is not enjoying music he loves cooking and inventing new recipes to share with his friends – it’s just like a different kind of performance!
He has a PhD in Ethnomusicology from Victoria University of Wellington, a Master of Music (Performance) from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music from the New Zealand School of Music.
He teaches Piano and Double Bass and Electric Bass and Guitar.
Yolanda
Yolanda is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose bass, guitar, and voice talents have seen her tour internationally. Her teaching background is geared toward groups and ensembles, and she has previously run a dedicated rhythm studio.
In addition to teaching, you will see her behind the desk as our 2IC, spreading the word worldwide about the Group Guitar program and lending her skills to help you find the right program for your child. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Music from NMIT (now Melbourne Polytechnic), a Bachelor of Music from Melbourne Polytechnic and a Graduate Certificate in Creative Industries from Melbourne Polytechnic.
She recently released the album “Live & Loud at the Enmore” with her band The Wraylettes, recorded during their national tour with The Cruel Sea. She teaches:
